About
Gabrielle is a proud Brazilian and first-generation American with a multidisciplinary academic background in the social and behavioral sciences and humanities. She holds a bachelor's in World Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of South Florida and a master's in International Affairs from Brooklyn College. Currently, she is working towards a PhD in International Psychology at The Chicago School, having completed all her required doctoral coursework.
Professionally, Gabrielle has worked with various international nonprofits, primarily on issues related to gender equality, human rights, and mental health. She is also passionate about working 1:1 with individuals to support them in their professional and academic lives, which led her to complete training in trauma-informed and business coaching with the University of Cambridge's Institute of Continuing Education and Møller Institute. She has volunteered as a peer support provider supporting individuals dealing with menstrual and mental health concerns. As an undergraduate student, she participated in a cultural exchange program where she was partnered with a Spanish-speaking international graduate student in psychology, providing tutoring and support in English academic writing. Gabrielle is particularly passionate about supporting international and first-generation high school and college students, given her first-hand experience moving to the US from Brazil as a high school senior.
Gabrielle is also an artist and freelance illustrator and loves to travel and visit museums and bookstores in her free time.
